A Winter Storm Warning for elevations above 5000 feet for heavy
snow and blowing snow remains in effect from 5 PM this afternoon
to noon MST Saturday. A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing
snow remains in effect from 5 PM this afternoon to noon MST
Saturday.

* Timing and main impact: a strong cold front will cross into
north central Montana late Friday afternoon. Snow will develop
and become heavy at times Friday night before tapering off
Saturday morning. Travel and outdoor activities at and above
pass level will be hazardous due to snow amounts and areas of
blowing snow.

* Snow accumulations: 4 to 6 inches of snow are possible at
elevations below 5000 feet. 8 to 14 inches of snow are
possible above 5000 feet.

* Winds and visibility: north winds gusting to 25 to 30 mph are
likely with frontal passage. Blowing snow will limit
visibility to less than one half mile at times.

* Temperatures: temperatures fall Friday night and Saturday to
around zero to 15 degrees below zero.
